Warm bodied entrepreneurs can learn a thing or two about how hunger can animate an otherwise lifeless entity. Zombies are relentless in their acquisition of knowledge that they may consume. They network together to achieve a common goal. Hypothetically they are the ultimate role model for a philosophical entrepreneur!
Are You Hungry?
As an entrepreneur I am an individual who is motivated by the idea of getting ahead and getting out of the rat race by ending the monotony of daily routine. As a warm blooded human being, I tend to become complacent with my goals and fall victim to routine when I am in my comfortable zone. Members of the undead community do not have this luxury of a so called “comfort zone”. It’s no wonder, because with each passing day they are slowly falling apart. What is so admirable about the zombie mentality is that regardless of their daily hardship they continue to press on!
I think the only time many of us really work towards any of our goals is when we feel like we have to. When people’s bellies are full, the bills are paid for another month, and their favorite show just came on the idiot box, their long term goals become a burden to think about. Zombies have the advantage in this situation, because they never have to think about anything. The undead are driven by an endless hunger, but human beings, with a goal & a little discipline, can utilize the zombie mentality:
“stop thinking and just do it!”
Feed Your Brain
Zombies are in constant search for brains. In contrast to this concept, if the living dead are always feeding on brain then the living feed off brains. In other words we hunger for outside stimulation, sharing ideas, learning, entertaining each other with communication in various forms. Every day we are stimulating our brain, and feeding the brain. Zombies seek out that which holds knowledge. Are you doing the same? As an entrepreneur seeking knowledge is one of the only daily routines we become accustom to.
Strength In Numbers
You’ve heard plenty of horror stories of “the hoard”. Legions of like-minded, or lack of, undead individuals group together and work towards a common goal. You’ve probably seen what happens when someone tries to run from a mob of zombies. The zombies work seemingly in sync with one another to overcome obstacles standing in their way of reaching their goal. I’ve observed how they use each other as leverage to climb to the next level. When one of them smells opportunity behind a locked door, the rest of the group networks and together they strive to make a breakthrough!
Like the hoard to the zombie, networks are the foundation to an entrepreneur’s success. In order to execute projects efficiently, you must learn to leverage time and effort by syndicating/affiliating with like-minded individuals. Entrepreneurs recognize their strengths and outsource their weaknesses. Entrepreneur’s delegate tasks, hire help, share ideas, tackle joint ventures, they invest in the dreams of others. They define the word network.
